On the Road and Living on the Edge--cont.

We were all up and out by 8:30A.M. Of course we had to do our OCD routine and that would be to empty our bladder a few times before we get out the door. Seattle’s Best Coffee is off the living hook. We can not seem to get enough of it. When I started to write this journal I was coming from the view point of mountains, cliffs, over hangs, and ledges. blobsAfter five days of Seattle’s Best Coffee I am looking at this edge thing from a different perspective. My driving skills have improved. Imagine that. How can you make a good thing even better? The answer is ……….Seattle’s Best Coffee. You people on the east coast, you do not know what you are missing. If it wasn’t for Seattle’s Best Coffee I would not be able to have made it to the top of Astoria’s Column in record time. I arrived to the top fresh and clean. There wasn’t a bead of perspiration come from my body. My breath intake was not labored. Not a hair on my head was out of place. If Jonathan’s pictures should make it into this article, just ignore the one of me arriving through the door at the top. It not me it’s my evil twin.

Speaking about my driving skills, you should see the streets in Astoria. They go straight up on a ninety degree angle. Nancy would not let me park on the street in fear that it would roll back and land in Astoria’s bay. Then we would be swimming with the real ugly fish. Speaking of fish…….. Astoria’s Sea Lions ain’t nothing to write home about. Their big, fat, lazy Blobs.  What a life…Laying around all day dictating who can come on the dock and who can not. Imagine groups of people waiting to go to their boats and can’t because the Sea Lions will not let them pass. Yes they are endangered species and they hold a lot of clout but come on they have way too much power.

As the kids were trying to see how much control these Sea Lions have I was sneaking off to see if I could find the house gooniehauswhere the Goonies lived. With my X-ray eyes and sharp sense of smell I looked up the hill and spotted their house. I never have had such keen senses but since I’ve been drinking this Seattle’s Best everything seems to be working better on me…everything…..Nancy too. I could even see in the windows of the house and yes I could see Chunk and his Rocky Road ice cream doing the Chunk shuffle. Imagine that!

This trip is great. I am have the time of my life. I don’t care if the Sea Lions have that much control or if the fish out here are real ugly. I am on an adventure!

Please excuse my typing skills today. My typing seems to be a little jittery but you should be able to read this.
