Angelina journal day 3Day 9: Thursday June 29, 2006

Guess what we did!! I bet you’re on the edge of your seats right now wanting to know what we did today after an exciting day in Seattle. Ok, I guess I can tell you, heeheehee. We went to Cannon Beach!!! I got up hoping the sun to be out so I can tan, but the sun didn’t come out until the last thirty minutes we were there and most of those minutes Jon, Lymarie, and I were in the cold Pacific Ocean!!!!!!!!

When I got up this morning, I automatically started on my journal for Seattle so that we can go to the beach as soon as we could!! Then around 12:10 oC, Nancy said, “We are going to leave around 12:30, so that we get there at a decent time.” I believe we got there around 3 oC, but the weather was cloudy and windy, so many of us had our jackets and pullovers on.

After lying with Lymarie for about 30 minutes, I decided to cross over this strip of water between the two different beaches. At first I kind of hesitated because I didn’t want to get my pants wet and it was still a little windy, but then I didn’t care and crossed over. The bottom of my pants got wet but I didn’t care.

When I went back over to the side I came from my pants really got wet! I took them off, I had my swimsuit under. Then I went back over to the other side, but Jon went off with the teachers way down the beach so I went back with Lymarie and Jessica to lay down.

Canon Beach1A while later, Lymarie and I started playing catch, then, started I started playing with Mike. All of a sudden, everyone was trying to get the ball. I know Richie was trying to get it from Lymarie and Jessica was trying to get it from me. At the end it was just Richie and me.

As we were playing the sun came out finally!!! Lymarie said I want to go swimming and asked me if I wanted and I said, “Sure I don’t mind”. Lymarie went to ask Nancy if we could and she said we can only go in up to our thighs, and we said fine. So we went in and I saw this huge clam!! I picked it up and Lymarie said, “Put that down, it’s disgusting!!” I didn’t say anything and put it down, but I went up to her and said, “You think everything is gross”. She just laughed and said it was true.

cold waterThen Jon came in and asked why don’t we dive underwater. I said because it is cold, then about three minutes later I went underwater, and it wasn’t that cold. Then when I got out I hugged Nutt and French but Nancy didn’t want me to get her wet so I didn’t. After that I ran after Lymarie to get her to go underwater, but she resisted. So I grabbed her arm and started running toward the water, when we touched the water’s edge, Lymarie ran ahead of me and went underwater by herself. I was shocked but thrilled as well.

After we went under a few more times, we both went to lie down to try and catch a tan before we had to leave. Ten minutes later we had to leave, so that is why we didn’t get a tan. On the way back to the van there is an ice cream shop, so some of us stopped there to get some ice cream.

When the staff said that we had to leave I didn’t want to go because I haven’t gotten my tan yet, heehee, but I knew that we had a lot of work to do so I got up to get ready to go. When we got into the can I was tired so I fell asleep.

When we arrived back here I finished up my journal on Seattle and now I’m doing this journal, and when I’m done with this I have to finish up the investigation. A lot of work before heading off tomorrow to go home. Well I got to go, I’m out of here!!!

Journal day 9: June 29, 2006

Lymarie day 4 Um… what did we do today? We didn’t do anything very much today but except we went to the Cannon Beach.  This afternoon we got there around 3:30pm. We were supposed to be there earlier than that but we didn’t. We needed to finish our journals and investigations about yesterday’s trip to Seattle.

When we woke up this morning, most of us were complaining that we are too tired to be able to finish up our works. Also for the beach, we wanted to be there early but couldn’t because we had some work to do. We thought we probably would drop the beach plan. But, lucky we didn’t miss the beach plan. We held our work until after when we were done with the beach. On the way back to dorm, some of us started worked on our journals and investigation.

But anyway, at the Cannon Beach, the weather was horrible; it was so cold and very windy as well. The sun didn’t show and shine enough; all I saw was kind of fog and the water was so COLD! I couldn’t even swim or stand there for a minute at all.  I decided to stay and lay on my towel for short time with Angelina. I couldn’t even move much at all, I just hate that weather if I am at the beach, I’d rather to go beach with the warm weather and sunny day.

Later on, Angelina and I threw the baseball to each other and Richie joined with us. We had a good time together and kept having beachfun too instead of doing nothing. And finally, the sun came up and shined. I was so thrilled and hoped that I could make it to swim into the water, but still I just couldn’t do it. I wanted to do it but I’d rather to swim with Angelina. She rolled her eyes but she said she wouldn’t mind at all. Later on, Angelina actually swam into the water and I was like whoa? I wanted to swim but man… the water is so cold. Angelina told me to swim and I said to her, “No!” She laughed and says, “Oh come on!” and all of sudden, she ran and decided to pull me and encouraged me to swim. I screamed and said “NO!” Finally, I ran with all of my confidence and I did swim! That was my favorite moment for today. After that, we kept walking into the water and Annie took some pictures of us. I got so cold I ran and took my towel and dried myself off.

beach2When it was time to leave, all of us didn’t want to leave, we wanted to stay there more but we can’t. I was kind of disappointed but oh well… I have to accept it. But the most important thing is that I had fun today and I really enjoyed myself too. But even worst, tomorrow is our last day to be in Washington, I really don’t want to go home but wow, all of these days since June 21, are the most amazing days I ever had!
