Today the sun has shine and the spirit of Joy has entered into me at last! Hallelujah! That is not all to it, this is our last day of OTR, not only that we went to Santo Domingo Pueblo to see Anthony and Mary who were the people not too long ago we have met. Anthony and Mary are like “family” to me because they give a warm hospitality to us. The reason why I said this because not all people are like them so we have to grateful to those people who give a warm hospitality, I’m really like open minded to them right now. Anthony’s birthday was today and that’s why we went there too. Anthony has brought us to Jemez Mountains to see a cave that his Grandfather showed him, but once we got there it was starting to get a thunderstorm with dark clouds. So we couldn’t go any farther so we decided to walk back down so he stopped us to tell us a story that he heard from his grandfather whom had showed him the cave. The story was called, “The Arrows to the Sun” about a boy who was born and he was looking for his Father the Sun. As I was hiking in Jemez Mountain with the group, I was doing great till my heart was pacing fast and breathing like crazy. If I can recall in Cumberland Gap I wasn’t in good shape because I didn’t bring my water and I fell because I didn’t have the balance. But today I did bring my water and did have the balance to hike the mountain. In high Mountain and valley low I know it can be done because I have the Great Spirit and core in me to do it! I did it! I had made it without being belligerent. Then we left to see another National Park of the Tent Rocks and I learned that there was a volcano eruption years ago and made the mountains look like tents. Wow that was amazing as I was looking around. Then we saw the Dam of Rio Grande to hold it so it won’t flood so while we went there to observe, it started to rain and hail was on it’s ways soon because it was a dark cloud around us as we stopped to look at the Dam of Rio Grande. Then we had to head back to Anthony’s welcoming home where lunch was served and desserts were situated. There was chili (my favorite now) because I love the way it taste, how the taste favors with embellish and the spicy of it was aroma and it was a hit at home! There was casserole and watermelon (my favorite fruit to eat). I had fun, I will miss them terribly but I will keep them in my thoughts as I roamed around being me. I don’t know what to say because I’ll miss them a lot. I really like their work of jewelry, the family gathering for the festival from day 4 and learning about their culture. And I certainly want to thank the children for the gift (a turtle made out of adobe and beautiful design) I received from my stay in their welcoming home. I’m really out of words to say right now. I really love it here in Santa Fe New Mexico, I really wish I could live here but I can’t have to go back to my family in Connecticut. I want to thank the New Mexico School for the Deaf and Lovato Family for enjoying our stay here in New Mexico and I have learned a lot from this experience here in New Mexico. Thanks you Once Again! Thank you with a lot of love and hopes.
