seeing is believing

Today has been a long day as we went to several places; Pecos National Historical Park, Rio Grande Bridge, Fort Union, Las Vegas Festival, and Rio Grande River. Some of these places are not quite as exciting as others we had visited during this week. However, Fort Union and Pecos National Historical Park happens to be my favorite of this day. I like Fort Union but I prefer Pecos National Park more, so let’s focus on it!

Both of the national parks have something special to them. I mean each of them have their own uniqueness with tons of information which fits my interests. Such as kivas; they are each unique in their own way. Nobody like me from the east would experience themselves inside of a kiva in the Pecos National Historical Park. On the other hand, tourists would have experience it themselves and “see it”. However, what I mean is a person REALLY experiencing this culture would have a better understanding of what the Native American Indians lived their lives through, watching the land being stolen by the thieves craving richness.

“Seeing is believing”, as many you might agree with this message. So I did what the message said so. Every stone packed up together and covered with brown clay just related beautifully. Every landmark just is empowering and heartfelt to my naked eyes. The views wrapped my heart with a fine cloth, written all over on it with amazement and knowledge.

The best part of this day was walking under the kiva. I mean it’s a 500 years old kiva where we were standing on! The Indians celebrated, walked, and meditated in there! So it’s very special for me to experience the inside of the kiva. I was thrilled that my feet stepped into that kind of kiva which is so important to the Indians during that time and also the present.

I never thought that today will be something special for us but the Great Spirit always throws any special events for us everyday! I truly wanted to thank to my Great Spirit for what he has done for us!

Dios te Bendiga
