taos day 7

Heyy!! Everyone we are soooooooooooooooooooooo FATIGUED!! I woke up Kevin because we have to work on our journals and investigations. Two days ago at night I did exercise a lot myself. I woke up 3am to run outside in two hours so I have to keep it going. Because I ate too much Mexican food but it was delicious anyways. Also, last night I was cleaning up the kitchen. We learned so much history in New Mexico!!

Today we went the Río Grande Gorge Bridge to observe this Bridge because it was established in 1963 to 1965 that was three years working on that. But if  you look at down inRio Grande Gorge Bridge is very deep. So, Kevin, Narelis, Jacob and I tried to throw water to see how deep and how fast it went. So, our hypothesis was 9 second fast and 288 feet down. Also, when a truck came through the bridge or the car we felt the vibration and we felt like it was going to fall because it was too deep and if you look down you will feel sick. This place it was gorgeous because it is.

We went to Taos Pueblo to observe and compare with Santo Domingo Pueblo. How it was different? Taos Pueblo is more desert, hot and the pueblo is more separate than the Santo Domingo Pueblo. Also, they have different tradition; they speak in Tiwa but also speak in English. A long time ago, Taos Pueblo people spoke three languages which were Spanish, English and Tiwa. But right now they speak in English and Tiwa. Other things I saw beautiful mountains, red willow river and I saw dogs laying under tree and they are free because walk around in the Taos Pueblo. They still have road in the mountains. Because a long time ago, people from the Taos Pueblo went through there to get animals for food and it is their lands too. People in Taos Pueblo drink water from the river and they get the water then bring to their home. A long time ago in the Taos Pueblo lived 2 thousand people but right now there lives 25 people because they left from Taos Pueblo and moved too. Also, they celebrate their traditions in the Kiva with the family every year.
One woman was the leader to enter the Catholic Church and inside the church is the Virgin Mary. The leader showed us how make the house because every years, they have to work reconstruct because of the rain and during winter time it got cold. Other things the leader showed us where they made bread, or cookies in the outdoor oven and sometime the dogs lived inside there if left the oven door open and dogs walk around the outdoor oven because of the smell of cookie. That it is really funny. It was very interesting to visited Taos Pueblo because it is so different than Santo Domingo Pueblo and language too.

We went to the Taos Pizza OutBack because we were hungry again and I ate pasta spaghetti with green chile, three small pieces of pizza with lobster and it was delicious food.  Barbara French parked in town because Nancy wanted to see her favorite artist called RC Goman. We were too exhausted because of Taos Pueblo was too hot and really I wanted get a shower to get cooler. So, Nancy Zurek, Barbara French, Anne Nutt, Jacob and Sophia went to see the RC Goman art. Then Narelis, Kevin and I stayed in the van because we were tired and we were chatting and took a long nap.
