Taos Pueblo Reservation ;The Rio Grand Gouge Bridge

Good news!!!!!! The building is still standing it made it the night. We are ready for another adventure.

I am amazed as to how spacious it is out here. As I drove up to Taos New Mexico I watch the Rio Grand carved its way through the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. The Rio Grand River runs swiftly as the water breaks against the shores. The mountain surrounds us on all sides as we climb 11.000 feet upward towards Taos. The energy is calling us to a higher plain.

For those of you back home who are reading this journal at this time remember there is no such thing as a coincidence. You are standing in the right place at the right time. I am now sending you healing energy. Ready….one…two…three….breathe.   Are you feeling it yet? Take it in.  There you are, you are on your way to be healed. You are witnessing the new and better you.

anne and nancyNancy, Anne and I happened upon a free lance merchant as we toured the Rio Grand Gouge Bridge. He was selling bunches of sage to burn. The Indians here cleanse the spirit by burning sage and passes it over ones aura. If you should see any one of us running around campus with burning sage in hand you will know that a purge is happening, a cleansing is taking place and the fire alarm is going off. It’s all good. We all can us a good cleaning every once in awhile. If you are not comfortable with a spiritual cleansing we too know how to cleanse physically its call green chili.

For those who know me, you know how I love to follow and learn about the Native American culture. Taos Pueblo provided an opportunity to see how the Ancestral Pueblo lived thousands of years ago. I was astonished to hear that families still occupied these adobes. The buildings were erected over 1000 years ago. The families who live on the reservation live without electricity and running water in their homes. They live as their ancestors lived 1000’s of years ago. Taking only what they need form this earth, no waste, no greed and no mess.

I am learning a whole new pace out here in the south west. I am beginning to recognize how we are surrounded by His (God’s) favor. Just take the time to look round and see what God has provided. We have been surrounded by the Great Spirit favor since we step foot in New Mexico, for example staying at The New Mexico School for the Deaf. Staying here has allows us all of the conveniences of home…favor.  Access into the New Mexico History Museum for free ….. favor; Access into Santo Domingo Pueblo to celebrate The Festival of Saint Pedro…favor; Access into the Lovato Family home…..favor; Student buying Native American jewelry at cost….favor; Being allowed to post the pictures of Taos Pueblo on the web …favor; Good kids…favor; Seattle’s Best coffee on sale…favor; Bathrooms when we are on the road…favor; The good possibility that I have a RC Gorman itching hanging in my home ….favor. Gifts that are provided, all we need to do is recognize and give thanks.

So to my faithful readers I close with this though, take the time to give thanks and recognize all it is that surrounds you. Everyday is a gift. The good with the bad it is all good, it is the process that was meant to be.  Hmmmm……just breath.
