Chili Challenge

Day 6

Sitting in front of Santa Fe buildingNone of us would expect this day to be a long day filled with Santa Fe historic stuff and inspiration of arts. I know you might have been suspicious why we went to Santa Fe little more often. However, we were doing little bit different in Santa Fe. Yesterday was more of the critical thinking and writing to catch up all of our work as you are told from my day 5 journal. Also we had relaxing time that we were given after we completed our work.

Though but not this day, today is full of activity and occupied as we touched several places such as Loretto church, Indian Museum, New Mexico Museum, Catholic Church, and eating in a popular restaurant. One more thing, we also went to Santa Fe Preparatory school to learn about their ‘greenest’ library which was certified by LEED government.

All of those things occurred which is overwhelming because Kevin and I had to write most of things as we can to gather information for our investigation. Actually, we are only responsible to do two investigations on a brief history of Santa Fe and Santa Fe Preparatory school’s ‘green’ certified library. After our long tour, our teachers decided that we could have a dinner out at night.

So we went to a restaurant that Francisco strongly recommended us to go. As we came into the restaurant, many people were seated in the waiting room to wait for least 15 or 20 minutes to get their seats. We began to wait for somewhat 20 minutes the same as everybody else. Finally, our waitress guided us to provide the seats for us to sit. Everything was settled as we were ready to read the menu. chili eating contestTwo or three waitress brought the food which happened to fill our table! Everybody including I ate like pigs! Caesar, Kevin, and I were challenging each other to see who can dare ourselves to eat lots of green chili. Kevin and I was doing excellent as we weren’t sweating or nothing else but unfortunately Caesar’s head was boiling and cooking as his pores began to squeeze waters coming out of his face. He even had to go to the bathroom to do his business! So I was kind of surprised at myself because I don’t really like hot and spicy foods and rarely eat them.

Maybe the Great Spirit put the magic in my tongue to beat any impossible in me! Thanks to my invisible spirit of great wonders! Finally, we left the restaurant with laughter, full bellies, and in high spirits to go home! Um, I was proud of myself that I succeeded to eat the hottest chili in the restaurant and eventually beat Caesar!
