Day Five of News You Can Use
Catch Up

Today is a time we all had a chance to catch up with our journaling, investigations, and rest. During the past two days shadow on the groundwe were absorbing so much information that it was seeping out of our pores. Of course in this dry climate it immediately evaporated. We worked together as a team, helping each other with our journals. walking around the plazaWe nursed Nancy back to health after her cleansing. I even got a short nap in as my body was screaming for sleep and my mind a rest from all that we have taken in so far.

We had a chance to run into town in the late afternoon. Santa Fe was closing up shop but we had a chance to run into a few stores and buy a few items. We took in the sights and walked a labyrinth. The labyrinth was another first for me. I have never walked one before. I started at the beginning and carefully followed the stones as it curved in and around the circle. Sophia was four steps behind me, keeping up the pace. We walked, contemplated, meditated, and prayed.

We did take the opportunity to walk the grounds and check out the churches’ architecture. The present church of the Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi was built in 1886. Santa Fe is known as the city of faith. Much of what one ses here in Santa Fe is connected to the church in one way or another. You can se the Spaniards’ influences throughout the city.

As the sun was setting in the west we piled back into the van and headed back to NMSD.
