Kokopeli comes back to life!

Always every morning had been my enemy for a long time but not for this day. Kokopeli happens to be materialized nearby to me. Quickly, I got myself ready and just got off to the bus as well as others. We drove about one half hour tgirl peace signrip to Bandelier National Park which was known for ancient Indians’ life.

There, a slight storm sprang all over us while we came out of the van for observation. It was very tempting for me and Kevin as a photo journalist to take pictures there. However, we decided that we will come back and hopefully the storm will fade away. We first entered the visitor center and watched “The Bandelier Story” movie. The movie is subsequently inspiring when the Indian’s poem says, “Oh little mother in the Earth” and “Oh little father in the sky”. It just gave me some goose bumps when I read the closed captions on the movie. Those words made realize how our only one creator gave them to us as an example to meet the needs in our lifetime. The beauty and culture is where I cannot describe but bring this into my heart forever.

girl and boy looking at map in the forestIt is very fascinating to see where the Pueblo people live in the southwest for many centuries. They lived their lives in the wall of mountains which are carved with arts and the open holes for entrance and light. They also use everything what the Mother Nature provided them to have. The carving just is very exciting for me because I used to love to learn about Kokopeli, the symbol for the Hopi Indians tribe. So now, I can see the carved Kokopeli in my very own eyes!

You see, words and beliefs are so powerful where you can stand on the Native American Indians’ behalf into the spiritual area. Then you really understand what the words really meant. That moment really hit me hard for a while to understand what the ancestral Indians did during their lifetime and experience.

I have all of my expectations are met;  meeting the original Kokopeli, setting my foot on the national park of Bandelier, and understanding better about the ancestral Indians’ culture. Mission accomplished!

Namaste.
