Plaza Santa Fe and Rodeo de Santa Fe

Day 2

sculptureWe were still a little exhausted and we are glad because we are in Santa Fe, NM. Last night I did not sleep very well because I was confused with the time and I woke up too early then I went to my bed again. Today we were tranquil, stayed all day at the dormitory and doing something. Anne was waiting for the man for fix the computer from NMSD because the password could not enter and if we can use it. Then I met a woman named Emma and her family came from Puerto Rico also her family lived there. I was shocked because I thought most people who live in New Mexico are Native Americans and Mexicans. But I knew it in New Mexico some places speak Spanish, because a long time ago that land was Mexico. At 6:56pm we arrived to Rodeo de Santa Fe. Then we entered and Anne gave us the tickets for entrance.

santa fe storeWe arrived a little bit late because we were looking for Carol B.’s house for parking our van. Then we could not found her house so Barbara French found place to park our van. We walked to Rodeo de Santa Fe which was not far. Many people went there because it is their culture and I saw many people who have 10 gallon hats and cowboy boots. Before we went to Rodeo de Santa Fe we went to Plaza Santa Fe for looking around to see what there is. In Plaza Santa Fe there were a lot stores, restaurants and really looks like a city but why not construct high buildings like NYC?? But they continued their culture and all is low building, no color, only have color brown, blue, red and yellow. They use a Native American and Mexican’s colors. We entered some stores which were expensive and good materials and we wanted to buy something there, so we will go to Plaza Santa Fe again on July 3.

santa fe street viewNow I am going to back about Rodeo de Santa Fe what is there or what they do. We could not find the chair for sit because a lot people in Rodeo de Santa Fe and also we arrived a little bit late. We found the chairs in front of the grandstands, thanks because if we could not find the chair we would have to sit up all day like 3 hours. The rodeo was good but I was bored because we are from New England and we resemble sports and cars also. It is because the cowboys ride horses around, ride horse to get the cow and so far I live in city and I don’t live in farm so is hard to me to relation to rodeo and that why make me bored. But it was cool to watch it because rodeo is not easy will pain a lot ride with cows or horses. Remember east of the U.S. is always busy and busy however in the west most time is rodeo that all. It is very motivating to compare the west and east.

I have one “special” it is Barbara French because she want learn 20 vocabulary Spanish not English. Yesterday, I gave her two words in Spanish which was mountains- montana and desert-desierto She try to practice how to say montana because she have struggled with the “n” and sometime fun also. Sometime Barbara French practice a lot how to say desierto and montana, sometime she forgets how to say but its all right because she is learning first time in Spanish.

Hope you enjoy our hard work that we did On The Road, New Mexico!!
