sleepyheadGood morning readers. Top of the morning to you all from us down here in the South. As some of you may notice we are a weeeee bit late getting the journals in. Our day was spent visiting the battle fields of the Civil War and the drive home we were on the battle field of the highways. We sat in traffic for hours, moving only one mile in an hour. I felt at war trying to edge forward as the doublewides took control of the highways. There is 'double', everything down here. Doublewides double tandem, and, from the looks of my driving pictures, double chins. After sitting in Chattanooga traffic we worked up an appetite so we pulled into Cracker Barrel and we too became doublewide.

lookout cannondrivingThursday was another awesome day. Driving the curves up the mountain to Overlook Point brought back memories of the Columbia River Gorge. We are living on the edge once again. We even manage to find Seattle's Best coffee - the only coffee to create an edge that will help us survive the Battle of the Tandems. Thank God for my co-pilot Annie. I couldn't do it without her.

I am happy to report that while on the road I am developing a new skill. Who ever said that you can't teach on old dog new tricks? Drinking coffee and stopping in some of the nations diverse bathrooms, I am now able to rate them!

    1 star means "hold it to the next stop"
    2 stars means "don't sit"
    3 stars means "check before you sit"
    4 stars means "everything is cool"
    5 stars means "you probably can have lunch right there"

I am now passing this skill down to our students, teaching them to go to the bathroom every chance they get. One never knows when they will have to sit in traffic and do battles with the tandems.biscuits

Before I close this morning I want you all to experience what I experience every morning. I want you to see it with your own eyes. A sight to behold. People have even written in and requested this picture. Yes it is "Chatter Bones" Seeing is believing. Here we are deep in the south and Nancy is doing what she does best ...freezing... I thought I would leaving you with this spectacular vision as I leave for another day visiting the south.
