Happy Independence Day! Woke up very late, we woke up around 8:30am and we were very happy that we can sleep more because we arrived very late last night. I made the scrambled eggs and it was my third time to cook my eggs. I was thinking which I will choose the shoe for today. I decided to put my sandal on because I thought we will be going to the beach so it will be easy to wear my sandals. Later on, we went to Subway for our lunch and I ordered the meatball marinara sub. I didn’t know that Subway Headquarter is in Milford, Connecticut. It smelled very good and we have to wait for eating until we arrived there. We were kind of whining because we were very hungry. I hate it when my food is cold because my sub was just toasted. We drove to Golden Gate Bridge and we got caught in the traffic which made us to be impatient. We got there and there was very nice view of the bridge! We saw the cool information on the sign of the bridge such as the wires and we sat on the bench and ate our lunch. We were fascinated about what people are doing on the ocean such as sailing and boating. When, our van just backed up but the coach bus was just past the van and stopped! We felt like, “Come on!” Then, Charise decided to just back up but it worked so well. We rode through the Golden Gate Bridge and we took some marvelous pictures of Alcatraz and the ocean! We drove through the curvy and narrow roads and we saw Muir Beach way far in the distance! It was very elegant beach! We arrived to the Muir Woods National Monument and we were searching for the parking space! We drove around for about four times because we have to find a parking place then we decided to parking in other place! Finally! We found the parking space and we were just followed some people until their car left. Then, we were just driven through right away! When, we got out of the van and my sandals just jumped out of the van! I felt like “Why me?!” First of all, we walked to the National Park service to pay the access to Muir Woods. But I had a hard time to walk in my sandals because it was easily jump off my feet! It sounded like shuffling! So I had tried different things but it was not really working well so I had to suffer to walk through the hiking trail! We saw some facts about the redwood trees and most trees were about 1,500 years old! Many trees were the very thickest ever I saw in my life! Then, we decided to walk through the trail and I was the very last person because of my sandals! The group just took off and I was trying to chase them but sometimes, my sandals just jumped off of my feet and I have to put them on! There were very nice view of the redwoods and I did wish that I should have my sneakers on! But that’s the way it is! One time, I saw Anne and Angelina sat on the bench and they caught their breath. I got there and I just relaxed for awhile. After that, I just took off to walking and trying to catch up the fast guys up ahead. I was kind of running briskly and my sandals were still very loose! I just had to be suffering and I saw them stopping at the mini bridge then they just took off. I felt like “Oh man!” I was thinking positive then finally, I saw Charise and she was kind of tired to walk and catch up to Megan and Darren! We got on the peak then Darren asked a man where the ocean views are. We walked a lot of the “downstairs” and my sandals kept falling off! I felt like that today was very embarrassing! So we stopped near the tiny bridge and we decided it was better when we can get back up there. Then we walked to “upstairs” and we saw Anne, Nancy, and Angelina. They were very panicked because they didn’t know which was the trail that we walked through because that trail have two ways, down and up. I shouldn’t take off without telling the teachers because they were really worried about me but lucky they asked someone if they saw boy with a green shirt that I wore walked by. Maybe someone knew me because of my annoying sandals! So we decided to walk back to the National Park place and we walked, walked! We did walk for about 6 miles and my legs were very clumsy to walk. Then, we took the pictures of our dirty feet! Anne Nutt called me a dust monster because I made Nancy and Charise to wait because they were behind me! After all, we went to the van and drove back to the cottage. We had really an exhausting day! We ate dinner and we ate macaroni with tomato sauce which was a good way to celebrate July 4th! |
