Golden Gate BridgeHappy Independence Day! Anne had woke everybody up at 7am, but happened everybody fell back to sleep til 8:45am. We all were so tired from all the walking in San Francisco. I made the usual which was eggs and toast. We all got ready and got in the van to take off to Redwood Park. We took the van this time because we will drive through the Golden Gate Bridge. When we got to San Francisco, we drove through the Golden Gate Park. Then after that, we saw the bridge but we pulled over to the rest area so we can eat our lunch. It was awesome to eat our lunch right in front of the Golden Gate Bridge. It was a phenomenal view. We took so many pictures of the bridge. As we were eating, there was a helicopter flew under and over the bridge. It was so cool to see that, I would love to do that one day.
OTR at the Bridge
After eating our lunch, we finally got into the van and be able to ride over the bridge. Riding over the bridge was an awesome feeling and the view was magnificent. It was so beautiful to see the ocean, Alcatraz, Angel Island, San Francisco, and much more. Also, when you look at the bridge, it looks short. I was mistaken, when riding the bridge was huge and I didn’t realize it. I would love to drive over the bridge again if I visit San Francisco again.

When we across the bridge, it was a whole different story, it just changed into country. We were going to the Redwood Park. In order to go there we had to take the mountain road and it was scary because it was right next to the cliff. The road was like a rollercoaster road with so many curves. The view of the mountains was unbelievable with the Pacific Ocean right next to it. Riding over the mountain, it gotten flatter and then into the deep woods. We arrived at the Muir Woods National Monument. The place was so busy we had to park way in the back.

Redwood forestWe got to the front of the park entrance and right next to the sign was this huge redwood tree. The tree was so high I had to tilt my head all the way back. It was beautiful how the park made their entrance. When we walked through the park, there were redwood trees everywhere. There were some small ones, large ones, high ones, thick ones. I learned those redwood trees lived to be over 1,000 years and still living. That is a long time a tree can grow. Then we happened to see a sign saying Ocean View, we all wanted to see the view because we bet it would be beautiful. Also, we had to hike to the view; we all wanted to do it.

RedwoodsThe hike was a good and steep but I’ve experience steeper than that. It was a good exercise for us. When we were hiking, we got to the point where there were two trails, we accidentally took the second trail and it leads us to the wrong place. We went back to where we were and we all were tired because of the wrong trail we took, so we end up going back. It was a three hour hike but worth every moment because everything was so beautiful and fresh air.

dirty feetWhen we got back, we took pictures of our dirty feet because we all wore sandals while hiking, Megan broke the record of being dirtiest. I was the second one to be dirty. We were just being funny and goofing around. We had the best time there, I will never forget it. Then we walked back to the entrance and there was a store. Nancy spent a long time inside because she just loves books.

Nancy was done with her book shopping; we got back to our van and took off to CSD. We all were so tired we slept in the van till we got back to CSD. We went on another bridge, Richmond Bridge and this one was different than all of them. This bridge had a top and bottom road because the bottom road was leaving San Francisco city and top was entering San Francisco, it was awesome. We arrived at CSD and started our journal and had dinner then went to bed when it was getting late.
