Darren   Journal: Day Six   other journals

Imagine how CSD was set in Berkeley, Ca then moved to Fremont, Ca because of the fault line that was cause by the CSDearthquake in 1906. We got up early around 8 in the morning because we all had to finish our journal work from last night. I didn’t make eggs this morning, I ate something simple, and it was cereal. After breakfast, I got ready for University of California at Berkeley. We all got in the car and took off to Berkeley.

It was about an hour drive to Berkeley. Once we got off the highway, we all were shocked because there were restaurants in every block. In the back of my mind I was like, you can leave Berkeley being 10 pounds heavier because the food looks delicious. After looking around, Charise found a parking lot for a good price, $6.00 all day. That time, we took our noon photo in the parking lot.

As we walked out, the girls and I were curious about the stores they had, made me want to go shopping. Trying so hard to look away, we walked down to the Telegraph Street. That’s where all the shopping, jewelry, street vendors were. I bought a ring from one of them. It was a thick sterling silver and I love it on my thumb! We walked around the stores they had downtown. The three old yet young minded women were very interested in the rock section of the cd/dvd store. They were so fascinated in the store that we probably spent at least one hour in the store. But I was so shocked that the prices in the store was very cheap than the east.smelling the flowers

After all that rock and pop music store, we walked into Peet’s café. I got Jasmine Lime Iced tea. It was delish, I wanted to drink more. The others got Green Tea Freddo, Chocolate and Caramel iced frappacino, and vanilla latte. All of them were so delicious. I wish we had Peet’s in Connecticut or Massachusetts. After we drank our drinks, we became hungry and we entered into Ann’s Kitchen. I had a turkey club with home fries. MAN, it was delicious, I ate it all. When our bellies were so full and we couldn’t eat a thing, we got up and walked to People’s Park.

People’s Park is a famous park in Berkeley because that was when the protest started for civil rights back in the 1960’s. groupThe history of People’s Park was so interesting when Anne and Nancy explained. Then, we walked around the Berkeley campus and we happened to find the old CSD. The place was so beautiful that it had a Spanish design, landscape, and beautiful weather. You can see the Golden Gate Bridge from standing from the office, it was gorgeous. Anne and Nancy would love to work here because it would be relaxing for them and have a nice time enjoying their lunch.

flowerLooking around the beautiful campus, we walked around the street and looked at the flowers that we don’t have in the east. Some of them were so beautiful and colorful. We had a nice walk around the neighborhood. Then, we walked back to downtown and finished some shopping. I got a sweater from a Berkeley store; it was on sale for $20.00. I as well might want to buy it if it cheap and I did. Megan and Angelina bought clothes from Wet Seal. It was a nice time to do our shopping and learning from the history. The shopping was done and we headed back to the van and rode back to Fremont.
