Exhausted, I woke up early about 8am and it was my first time to sleep longer for about 10 hours. I was glad that I didn’t have any sleeping troubles and I did cook the scramble egg which I was okay with that and it was my first time to cook the egg. I wanted to make the egg scramble but I failed to because I just left the egg that all over the pan and the egg was like flat. I felt like OOPS but I ate it! Then, we walked to BART and it was very long walk to there but a long ride to Montgomery Street where there is the road to Chinatown. We went to very fancy hotel which has a huge restaurant and we got some information where we were. We walked to Chinatown and it was very large warm welcoming entrance! Kangni read Chinese language and she forgot some of those welcome banner signs. Right away, we entered many different stores and first store was more like a souvenir store which I didn’t need to shop in. I was not really attracted to the things in the store. I had to wait for the girls to finish buying their clothing. Then, we decided to eat lunch in St. Mary Park and I ate turkey breast with mustard and goldfish crackers. It was really windy out there because we were few blocks from the ocean. It was very nice view to the first Catholic Church that was founded in San Francisco. In the second store, we entered a big Chinese store and there were many things that were made from China so it was very interesting what they made. One thing, it made me very itchy because the store has dead bugs in the glass but the bugs looked like they were alive. I felt like why did the store must have that and it can make people freak out! I bought some things for my parents and it was very cool because there were really nice colors on the stone eggs. We went to the upstairs and we saw many Chinese clothing such as silk dresses, shoes, and scarves. They were so expensive like a dress was $150 dollars! Then, we walked through the Chinatown and some places have the beautiful and colorful jewelry. We took a lot of pictures of them and Anne’s favorite jewelry is lapis which the store has them. She walked in that store right away and bought it because there was sale 50% off. She was lucky to go to that store that day! Later, we went to the fortune cookies factory which we were very excited to eat some cookies. But we entered the miniature building and we thought that the fortune cookies should be bigger than that. We cannot get pictures because we have to pay 50 cents to take the picture. We were like eh? But one thing was good fact that they were making 10,000 cookies a day and we can’t imagine how they just sit and fold the cookies! We got the chocolate fortune cookies which it was very good! When, I looked at the bags of the fortune cookies and I thought most of the cookies were burned but there were different flavors. We went to the Asian food store was Kangni’s favorite because she grew up eating the Asian foods. We looked around and there were some disgusting foods because there have the shark fins, dog tails, and antlers! But I have to respect that and we did taste the seaweed from Kangni but I don’t really like it and tasted like salty grass! After that, we went to the cable cars museum and we saw the big cables that were for running cable cars on some streets such as California, Hyde, Mason, and Powell. We took a lot of pictures about the history about cable cars and I saw some of the pictures about San Francisco earthquake in 1906. I really can’t imagine how San Francisco can rebuild the city because there were a lot of damages in 1906. The girls had to investigate about the history of cable cars and they seemed to be writing a lot which was good. Next, we went to the Chinese restaurant called Lichez’ Gardens for dinner which it was really good Chinese restaurant because there were many Chinese there. There were a lot of hilly and steep roads which we have to get there. We were exhausted from walking and now sat down and relaxed. We did order a lot because we were much starved and I ordered the shrimp with peas which I almost eat them all. We have to respect Kangni and we have to use the chopsticks to eat. I was struggling to pick up the shrimps because it was kind of oily which it was slippery from chopstick to pick up. I was very happy that I ate dinner and felt full after not eating much for two straight days! Finally, we went to the BART to go to Fremont and the last train stop to Fremont was awhile ago. We didn’t know about that and we have to get that train to go to Oakland City then took other train to Fremont. I was very tired and full! I felt like I walked like a big belly! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
