Waking up so early that the roosters were crowing in the morning, it was Charise waking the boys up. Breakfast was the same; eggs and toast. I have to tell you, my eggs were better than yesterday and more delicious because I already know how to make an egg. After that, I listened to music and relaxed; also made my lunch for the afternoon. We all got dressed and took off to the BART to go to San Francisco China Town. We arrived at San Francisco, and the weather was better than the last visit we had but it was windy. Where we got off the train station was a hotel called Sheraton Palace. WOW, that place was so fancy that we couldn’t afford it. We happened to walk down the hallway and found a grand ball restaurant with so many diamond chandeliers all around the place. It was so beautiful. And while we were there, we took our noon photo and that time Angelina was acting like a stuck up queen in the chair. We walked a few blocks downtown and that’s when we found China Town entrance. It was so huge that cars can go by it. At that time, we took our day 5 picture and we noticed Kangni was so excited because she was going to see some of her home town area. As we walked in China Town, we started shopping, the girls were the worst. They just walked in and began right there. We went in a clothing store and I bought few shirts, sweater, and shot glass for my mother. I was surprised that the prices were cheap. Then we looked around other stores, and we probably spent one hour and half looking around in 3 stores. I was fascinated how different Chinese lifestyle is than America. They all had different styles and different cloth. After we settled down from our shopping, we went to the St. Mary Park and had our lunch. It was very relaxing when we had our lunch with the wind. The gardens in the park were so beautiful that I wanted to steal some and keep it for myself. It was a nice park and next to us was a church that was famous. It was the first Catholic Church set in San Francisco. When we finished our lunch and walked to the church, we noticed there was a wedding going on. It was so busy that tourists were taking pictures of the bridesmaids. Then we walked into a Chinese store that Anne and Nancy was fascinated by. As we entered, they just fell in love with that store. They loved how the dresses were made and the decorations on the dresses. But the problem was that, they couldn’t fit in them because Chinese people are very petite and tiny, American people are very muscular and have big bones, so that why they couldn’t fit in any dresses. As they were looking, I was looking around where they had sculptures, jewelry, clothing and furniture. Everything was so different and beautiful handmade. We ended up in the store for a little after an hour. As we grouped together, Anne said, “no more shopping, we all are about to go broke.” We left the store and started walking around China Town.As we were walking, Anne said the factory of making fortune cookies is in San Francisco. We all were shocked. The fortune cookies were located in the alley of China Town. When we found the factory, it was so small that 5 people were working in the factory, it was unbelievable. I found out the factory makes 10,000 cookies a day, WOW, that’s a lot! We couldn’t take any pictures because there was a sign saying that if anyone took a picture, we must pay .50 cents. We were like, that is very strange but we didn’t take any pictures because we wanted to respect their culture. Then this little man was giving out chocolate fortune cookies and everyone loved them but I couldn’t have them because I was allergic to chocolate. Everyone said they were delicious that Angelina ate 3 of them. After the factory, we walked this very steep hill to the cable car museum. We had to walk 3 steep hills getting to the museum, but I was used to it because I’ve done track my whole life. Anyways, we got in and then we looked around. We happened to seen a motor with wheels spinning around in the front of the museum and the back too. They were motor wheels because that is what making the cable cars moves around the city, it was awesome and also fascinating. We looked around and saw the history of the cable cars and how it was started, how the earthquake damaged the cars and how it was renovated to a new cable car. We planned to ride the cable car and we found the office saying that it was $5.00 per person to ride the cable car. Anne was so shocked it was so expensive but she did promise us we will ride when we visit the Alcatraz.Instead of riding the cable car, we walked back to China Town and entered into a real Chinese restaurant. The name is the place was Lichez’ Garden. The restaurant was so beautiful and decorated. Then as we all ordered our meals, Kangni showed us how to use chopsticks and some of us were struggling how to use it but we had to bear to use the chopsticks. After Kangni taught us, our meals came. The meals were so big, everyone could eat it. So it was like a buffet but we ordered the meal ourselves. I ordered garlic chicken with pork chow mein. It so was delicious. The others had shrimp, sweet and sour chicken, scallops, egg rolls, lamb and so much more. We all were stuffed after we ate then we had our good conversation and laughs. It was a good time for us to learn from Kangni. I had a good time from China Town. Finally, we walked back to the BART station which was far but it was a nice evening out. As we arrived to BART, we couldn’t find our train because the last train was at 8:17pm; we got to the station around 8:30pm. So we end up taking 2 different trains back to Fremont. As arrived at CSD and started some journal work and we all were tired and drop dead into bed. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
