Wow, what a long day! We took the BART to SF again, but this time we went to Chinatown. It was awesome! So much to see! We got there a little after noon. We started to look around in the stores and stared to shop. Everything was full of color, reds, blues, greens, pinks, purples, everywhere you look. There were so many different stores and so much to see. We went into this one store, there were so many different kinds of Chinese clothing that we sooooo beautiful! I saw this one dress that was so beautiful, and I tried it on. It ended up being too small but Nutt said that she will ask for the next size up and they did have it. I tried it on and it fit really well, so I got it. We went into this other store which was also another really good store with Chinese things and I saw this hair pin thing that you put in your hair. I found one that matched the dress and I bought it.
After looking around for a while, people were getting hungry so we stopped to eat. When done eating, we went walking toward the fortune cookie factory. It was quite a long walk but not too long. When we did get there, it was small for a factory I thought. They had fortune cookies everywhere. It smelled sooooo good! We saw how they make the shape and it was pretty simple actually. I thought there was much more to making the shape.
When we left the factory, we went to the Cable Car Museum to learn about how the cable car came to be about. We got there and we saw four rows of three wheels. It was the cable that was running the cars on the streets right outside of the museum. It was fascinating to see how the cars ran. W hile we were there, Nutt was looking through the book that we have on SF to see where we buy the cable car tickets so that we can get a ride on the cable cars. After seeing where to go, we started walking but then Nancy said, “Where are you going?” to Nutt. Nancy said that they went past the place to buy the tickets and Nutt wasn’t sure so Nancy went to ask and see if it was the place. It was but the tickets were too much money so we just decided to go and eat dinner. We were planning on eating out at a Chinese restaurant.
When we did get to the restaurant, I was glad because we walked up and down then hilly roads. The restaurant was pretty fancy but not too fancy. The food was pretty inexpensive as well which was good. After everyone ordered, I know that I was looking forward to the food arriving so that we can start to eat. As soon as the egg ro lls arrive, I took one and started to eat. It tasted sooooo good and delicious. I loved it. When all the food arrived, everyone was eating and talking, but mostly eating. We all were eating with chopsticks which were a first for me. I used to eating with a fork and I knew that I couldn’t hold chopsticks well but I did a decent job with them. While we were eating, I noticed that Mike couldn’t pick up his shrimp with his chopsticks so he started to stab it with his chopsticks and I started to laugh hard. It was funny to see him struggle. Heeheehee.
Once everyone was finished eating and we got all the food packed, we started to walk to the BART. It was a long walk and hard because it was uphill then it got downhill. The downhill wasn’t bad at all but the uphill was hard because it was steep and we just finished eating which was worse because we had more weight on us that we would normally have. Once we did get to the BART, we found out that we missed the train that would go straight to Fremont, so we had to take this other train and switch to go to Fremont. When we got off at Fremont it was nine o’clock and by the time we got to CSD it was 9:30. Well that is the tale of our exciting day on Chinatown, until next time, later and peace!
