Today was awesome! We went to see the Winchester Mystery House; it was huge, 161 acres! Imagine! inside winchester housAnyway when we arrived we ate our lunch before going on the tour. Once we got started on the tour, that’s when things really started to get interesting. At the beginning of the tour there was this little door for Mrs. Winchester because she was only 4’10”, it was small compared to regular sized doors. winchester houseAfter that, we started walking in the house itself. The rooms were small but amazing how she designed all the rooms and how much she spent, but the numbers of rooms was just shocking!

There were 160 rooms on 161 acres. Some of the rooms were unfinished, and some of the rooms were blocked off after the 1906 earthquake. We went into the storage room and it still had windows and doors that were never installed and that was worth a lot of money. They were so beautiful!!! Wow! They all were of stain glass from Tiffany’s.

We went into her bedroom, ohh my goodness the bed was so tiny and the piano was so small, the smallest I have ever seen. I was like wow! Everything in her room was small. It looked like something that a kid would use, a kid who is five or six. I looked at it with awe, it was amazing. Also, there were stairs that weren’t like regular stairs they were small, maybe winchester housethree to four inches apart from each other. They were easy to trip over, which I did several times. Heeheehee.

When we got to the fourth floor we went on the balcony and the view was amazing. There was a breeze, which felt good, and everything seemed so winchester housebeautiful. There was a garden and you could see the other parts of the house and it fascinated me the whole time. I was never bored with it.

After we were finished with the tour, we went looking in the gift shop which was huge, bigger than any other gift shop that I have seen. I bought some posters and pieces of candy. After everyone was ready, we went to the museum that showed the historical guns. In the museum, they had this machine that tells you how good you can love or something. All the students had a turn, I got “burning”. Everyone was laughing at the different results that everyone had. Then we went back to the gift shop and they had other machines similar the one that was in museum and we all tried them again and it too was hilarious.
Before long we were on our way back to the school to work on our journals. Darren, Megan, and I kept looking at the different people that were on the highway and kept laughing. When we did arrive at the school, I realized that we got here at 5 which was really early for us because we always tend to arrive around 6:30 to 7. Well that was our day so far, until tomorrow. Au Revoir!!!flowers
