The S.F is temperature is 64 degrees, so I felt there cool. We saw and noticed on the highway all flat and dry. I ask Nancy California hillswhy Sacramento is very hot. Nancy just explained with me about difference compare with S.F about the temperature. S.F. was near ocean and Sacramento was not near ocean, and Sacramento is very hot and dry. We had to stop at the StarBucks. I walked to the StarBucks, when I felt Sacramento between 80 to 90 degree temperatures, also hot as Connecticut is 80 to 90 degrees. I bought strawberry crème and also junk like Doritos and sun chips.

Charise drove us to the Gold Rush in Coloma, where the famous Gold Rush was. When we arrived to the Gold Rush, we only visit in the Marshall Gold Discovery at the gold rush museumState Historic Park, I saw the museum’s things. I saw old Mahjong set. My favorite game to play is Mahjong, the Mahjong means number and Chinese word game. I saw about young Chinese girl started binding their feet at 5 years old. She walked on the road very difficult. I thought that Chinese girl walked very beautiful. We entered the Blacksmith’s store; we can look around at the books and some clothes. Nancy bought some books for social studies class. After we ate the sandwich and had water, we walked to the river. Mike threw rock across the water and hit a bird. We said the bird flew over to see Mike, then Mike and bird became best friends. Nancy was excited to finally touch gold rush place because she never visit gold rush place before.

panning for goldWe went to learn how to find gold. Bryan taught us how to pan and we found gold. I stole gold from Mike’s pan. I was just kidding so Mike will not hunt me. If true story in 1849, a man can steal gold from other man’s pan, the other man can kill him. chinese in the gold rushAfter that we went to a small house and learned about the Chinese and saw Chinese words. I was born in China so I explained to them about how to learned Chinese word. I told them about I have Chinese language first before English. So I told them, we will go to the Chinatown on June 30, I want to them use chopsticks at the restaurant. That my rule, but I just joke with them.

We had learned a lot from panning gold, watching the Blacksmith, learning the gold rush, and playing in the river.
