Chinatown Investigation
 Chinatown’s history is important. Chinatown was set up in the 1870s. The Chinese came to live here. There about 20,000 resident living in Chinatown. Chinatown has the gate showing where it starts, and streets are jammed with shops, jewelry stores, herbal medicine shops, restaurants, and garment factories. Chinese culture has herbal medicine shops.  The people use herbal medicines to help people who were sick to feel better!!
The jewelry stores had many different colorful stones and jewels. There were lapis lazuli, jade, silver, ivory, and gold. Many things from all over the world are in the shops. Many Chinese style buildings are all around. The Sing Chong Building was one of the first places to be built after the earthquake in. This still stands today. |
